L.W. Benton Company, Inc. (LWBC) offers Traditional Listing Services and Auction Services to meet all of your Real Estate needs.  We judge our success by the success of the clients we serve. Our philosophy is solidly based on offering the best services possible. The values of honesty and integrity are the most important characteristics that have made our Company successful and help us continue to grow.

LWBC has used the auction method of marketing to successfully market residential Real Estate, commercial Real Estate, estates, antiques, business liquidations, equipment, Government Surplus and other assets since 1995. We have a proven track record of consistently attracting qualified buyers and obtaining maximum results for our clients. LWBC has the requisite size and experience to meet the demands of conducting large auctions, yet it is small enough to give unmatched personal service.

Our auction team handles all the details from start to finish including pre-auction consulting, marketing, advertising, site preparation, setup, auctioning, accounting and site cleanup. Our commissions/fees depends on the size of the auction and services required.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with you. If you have any questions, please give me a call at (478) 744-0027.

Administrative Staff

L.W. “Bo” Benton Jr., President

Bo Benton is a third generation auctioneer and took over as President of the company after the death of his father, L.W. Benton Sr., in 2003. He is a 1998 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Agricultural Economics, as well as the Missouri Auction School and holds his Georgia Auctioneers License, Georgia Real Estate License and Georgia Used Motor Vehicle Dealers License. Bo holds his Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate Designation (AARE), which is the highest recognized designation for the Auction of Real Estate. Less than 1% of Auctioneers throughout North America hold the AARE designation.  He is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Auctioneers Association and the Georgia State Fair, and is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, the Gray Chamber of Commerce, the National Exchange Club of Macon, the Middle Georgia Association of Realtors®, National Association of Realtors®, Realtor® Land Institute (RLI), Georgia Independent Automobile Dealers Association and the Georgia Multiple Listing Service. Bo is proud to continue the legacy of his father and the continued reputation of L.W. Benton Company for fair, honest and exceptional service.

Vann Collins, Vice-President of Operations

Vann Collins, who joined L.W. Benton Company in 1995, has over 25 years experience in the auction and real estate industries. He holds his Georgia Real Estate License and is a former Georgia licensed auctioneer. Vann recently retired as a District Chief for the Macon/Bibb County Fire Department, where he had served since 1973, to take on the full-time responsibilities of managing L.W. Benton Company’s auction yard and facility. Vann serves as an advisor and set up manager for many of our real estate, auto and heavy equipment auctions. On most sale days, however, Vann can be found in the auction ring serving as our senior ring-man and assisting in the taking of bids.

Ben Roberts, Vice-President of Marketing and Sales

Ben Roberts began working with L.W. Benton Company in 2003 as a ring-man and assisting in general auction day operations. In late 2005, he took over the direction of the company’s municipal sales division and in early 2007, Ben earned his Georgia Auctioneer’s License (GAL#3502), attending the Southeastern School of Auctioneering in Greenville, SC. A former newspaper reporter with over five years experience covering county and city government, as well as numerous law enforcement agencies, it is Ben’s extensive knowledge of government bodies and his understanding of the constraints under which they must work, that makes him an asset to both L.W. Benton Company and the municipal clients we serve.

Jenni Benton, Office Manager

While an integral part of the family business since 2003, Bo’s wife, Jenni, left Delta Air Lines in late 2005 to work full time as L.W. Benton Company’s office manager and to oversee the company’s day to day operations. She holds her Georgia Real Estate License and is a member of the Middle Georgia Association of Realtors, where she serves on the Hospitality Committee and the Education Committee. Jenni is a 1996 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education, specializing in Middle Grade Math.

Linda Collins, Real Estate Broker

Linda Collins joined L.W. Benton Company in 1995. She has held her Georgia Realtors License since 1980 and is GRI certified. She is a member of the Georgia Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Linda serves as the company’s financial director on auction day overseeing the registration and check-out of buyers and consignment sellers alike. Linda also works closely with potential buyers during real estate auctions to answer any questions or concerns they may have during the sale.

James L. Turner, Estate Specialist

James Turner is a retired Marketing/Sales Manager and has been involved with antiques and collectibles for the past 25 years, both as a hobby and a business. Since joining L.W. Benton Company in 1997, James’ expertise and knowledge of antiques has been invaluable, both to our buyers and sellers alike.

Wade McCord, Auction Advisement

Wade McCord has worked with L.W. Benton Company since 1995. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Georgia College and State University in 1993. He served as a member of the United States Army Rangers from 1986 to 1989 and is a current member of the U.S. Army Reserves. Wade is employed as the Deputy Tax Commissioner for Bibb County and is an active member of the National Exchange Club of Macon. He is also a past president of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Wade’s enthusiasm and expertise as a ring-man makes him an indispensable part of the L.W Benton Company team on auction day.
